The City of Trenton is located in north-central Missouri, about 100 miles northeast of Kansas City. The county seat of Grundy County, Trenton is a scenic community with many parks and is home to North Central Missouri College, which continues to expand its campus in Downtown Trenton.

Downtown Trenton is home to numerous historic buildings, including the Grundy County Courthouse, former Grundy County Jail and the Grundy County Historical Museum. It also has the potential to serve the many students of North Central Missouri College.

Downtown Trenton has had some significant recent successes, including:

  • Hiring an executive director for the Trenton Downtown Improvement Association
  • Constructing a new county jail in downtown
  • Expanding the North Central Community College
  • Utilizing the Home Repair Opportunity (HeRO) program, a Missouri Housing Development Commission program, for renovating qualifying properties
  • Creating new downtown historic design guidelines
  • Designing new streetscape improvements throughout downtown
  • Constructing the new Centennial Park
