Building and Streetscape Training Seminars

Preserving, or restoring, the unique character of downtown is vital to creating a successful destination for entertainment, shopping and living. The Building & Streetscape Training Seminars address effective practices for the creation and protection of a unique downtown. Topics of these seminars include:

  • Building Design Guidelines - provide illustrated guidelines of appropriate and desirable building fa├žades and infill development
  • Streetscape Design Guidelines - provide illustrated examples of public improvements including sidewalks, street furnishings, parking lots, plazas, etc.
  • Preservation - ensure that new improvements are constructed appropriately and existing improvements are protected in through development codes and historic preservation districts
  • Financial Support - identify potential funding mechanisms for ongoing project assistance with a focus on creating local financial resources
